I stumbled across this item while shopping at the local wholesale club. The Coleman QUAD Lantern is a 4-panel LED lighting system then when attached to the
Lantern provides bright 360-degree illumination for up to 75 hours on 8 "D" batteries. That's all well and good, but it's the fact that each of the four LED light panels have their own NiMH rechargeable battery system and can be removed and placed or hung anywhere for up to 1.5 hours of continuous lighting. Place back onto the main lantern and they automatically recharge.
we've tried the merlin, pilot, flyer, and now the zephyr. across the line, the zephyr has got to be the easiest to setup, the most versatile unit to adjust in the field, the smoothest balanced, and a whole lotta fun.
Just to demonstrate how much fun it is, at the end of this clip we tried no hands operating and we were all so surprised with how smooth those shots came out.
There is a disclaimer on this clip - it was super windy while we were shooting but we didn't have another time to shoot, so we made the best of it. if you like these results, i imagine i could have gotten more out of it had the wind not been so strong.

Get a first look at the new Genus GVISTA Prism Viewfinder for DSLR's. What's unique about this item is that it attaches around your camera's 3" LCD screen and with the magic of mirrors allows you to view the screen from above, below or from the sides.
Review Conclusion:
This a great low-cost way of viewing your LCD when doing low slider / dolly shots with your HDSLR. When the need arises to shoot above the crowd just attach it in upside down and you'll be able to view it from below. At $39.95 this is a pretty cheap piece of gear to have along side your Canon EOS 7D, Rebel T2i, EOS 5D Mark II, 1D Mark IV, Nikon D5000, D90, D300s or D3s.
When mine arrived two of the mirror inserts were loose and needed to be glued back in place. Also, each viewfinder comes in their own protective hard case, but the viewfinders are square and rather bulky, so they will eat us space in your gear bag. But for $40 why complain.

Clik Elite is a company that specializes in photography bags for adventure photographers. Their bags are rugged, water resistant and uniquely designed for the needs of hikers, backpackers, and other adventure seekers.
The BodyPod was designed to fit a DSLR with 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. The case is worn as a backpack but can be turned around and worn in the front in order to mount your camera on the stabilizing frame for steady telephoto photography and video - without the need to lug a tripod and with more flexibility than a monopod.
I wanted to test out the Fujifilm HS10 on the Steadicam Merlin. This video test was shot entirely at 60fps in 720p (1280x720 resolution). The video edited and rendered using Sony Vegas Pro 9, exported at 6Mbps in Sony AVC format (MP4).
Stay tuned for my full review of the Fujifilm HS10.
This skateboard music video was shot using the 5D Mark II and the Humble Monkey Camera Truck. Special thanks to the Rye Airfield in Rye, NH for permission to shoot - and on such short notice.
The Humble Monkey is a portable camera truck designed to give the cinematographer the ability to do virtually any length dolly / tracking shot without a track.
My immediate opinion of the Humble Monkey is that is serves a particular niche in the marketplace since it sits low to the ground and requires a very smooth surface for best results.
I am spending the next week taking the Humble Monkey out and about to discover new places and ways to use it.
In this video I took the Humble Monkey to a local tennis court in hopes of finding the local tennis team practicing. Unfortunately, tennis players were a no show so I created a very quick video using the iPhone to give you guys a quick preview.
Test notes: Footage from the Humble Monkey was shot using the Canon 5D Mark II with Sigma 20mm f/1.8 lens. Aperture was set at approx. f/11 or f/13 in order to keep the shutter to 1/60th. I plan to revisit the tennis courts with a stabilized 24-105mm lens to see if the image stabilization will help with some of the vibration from variances in the surface.

Do you shoot with multiple cameras? In this video I'll show you how to use the new Plural Eyes software from Singular Software to automatically sync up your multi-camera shoot, as well as how to use Sony Vegas Pro 9 to edit multiple camera tracks.
Plural Eyes is software that automatically syncs audio/video clips from multiple cameras, multiple audio sources, or from multi-take projects without the need for timecode, clapboards or other manual ways of creating sync points during the capture process.

This is the a full video ISO comparison comparing the new Canon EOS Rebel T2i with the Canon EOS 7D.
Note 1: It was mentioned in the video that the EOS 7D's autofocus has 29-points. This is not the case. The EOS 7D features a 19-point (all cross-type) autofocus system compared to the EOS Rebel T2i which features a 9-point AF system with just one center cross-type sensor for use with lenses that are f/2.8 or faster.
Note 2: The EOS 7D looked quite a bit more saturated on the LCD display compared to the Rebel T2i, however the actual saturation on both camera's were very similar.
Based on the limited testing inside my house it looks like both cameras are pretty comparable from ISO 100 - 1600 with the EOS 7D handling noise better at ISO 3200 and ISO 6400. The EOS 7D also looks like it might have maybe a 1/4-stop advantage in brightness at the identical settings. This seems consistent with my test that I did a while back when I compared the 5D Mark II with the 7D - the 7D looking to be a bit over exposed despite the exposure meter showing a middle exposure.

Everything is ungraded straight out the camera. Some shots are underexposed and I thought about bringing them up in post but I wanted to really not touch the image at all so you could get a better idea. Don’t forget this is the first time I used the camera. Much better stuff will come.
I will be finding a host for the uncompressed version soon so you can see it without the h264 compression.

And here's where things get crazy -- the T1i's video capture mode is almost exactly the same as the 5D Mark II, short of 10 extra frames per second at 1080p made possible by the 5D's beefier processing power. But still, shooting at 720p will serve most people just fine (and it's as high as you can go on Nikon's D90, keep in mind). You do notice the lower framerate at 1080p, especially if you're panning a shot, but for slow-moving subjects, it's not significantly jerky. Some people may even prefer the ability to switch-up frame rates. Posted by Username: Babymick on YouTube
