Lexmark P6250 All-in-One Printer Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.00 (out of 10)
The Lexmark P6250 Home Photo Center All-In-One, along with the related P915 printer, introduces a new design for Lexmark: rounded edges, two-tone silver and gray coloring, a consumer-appliance look and feel, and a new focus on ease of use. But the most important new feature is speed. The P6250 is by far the fastest ink jet AIO we've seen from Lexmark.

Lexmark's P6250 all-in-one printer has consumer-friendly features and all of the components you need to start a home photo lab. Unfortunately, its print quality is disappointing and it takes forever to print large documents. The unit makes it a snap to start making your own albums and digitising your existing photos, but you'll be disappointed by its 'photo quality' prints. In fact, its output can be bettered by much cheaper alternatives, such as Epson's Stylus CX3600.

The P6250 All-in-One printer/scanner/copier is Lexmark's very first direct print solution that will work without being connected to a host computer. It will print directly from all the main digital camera memory card variants, including xD, without an adapter and you can print directly, using a USB cable, from cameras that support PictBridge and the majority of current cameras now do. A big and clear 2.5" LCD preview and status screen is standard and you get six-colour photo printing, 1200x2400 scanning and colour copying - all for a few pennies under 150 Lire ($249 US)

If desk space is at a premium and you're looking for a compact, all in one printer copier and scanner, then Lexmark's P6250 could be the answer..

Previous Lexmark printers and all in ones have been clunky looking affairs, so it was nice to see a style revamp was allowed for the company's latest range of machines. The P6250 is their latest extremely compact and quite stylish top-end all-in-one device. It's well built and thanks to the near vertical paper feed support, it can be placed so that it sits tightly against a wall, saving more desk space.
