Ricoh CX1 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 10.00 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "Outwardly the CX1 looks very similar to the excellent Ricoh R10, which I reviewed back in February. It has a strong aluminium body with the same uncompromising box-like shape, and the controls on the top plate are identical. It has the same 7.1x zoom 28-200mm-equivalent lens, and while the shape and layout of the rear panel has been tweaked to accommodate the larger LCD monitor it still has the joystick menu navigation control. ...
The Ricoh CX1 is a very accomplished camera from one of the veteran names in the industry. It combines excellent build quality, a versatile specification, class-leading performance and superb image quality with a range of innovative features and easy-to-use handling ..."

| Review (Summary): The Ricoh CX1 is a compact 9-megapixel digital camera with 7.1x optical zoom lens (28-200mm equivalent) and a large 3.0" LCD display. The camera features a wide ISO range of 100-1600 and offers built-in sensor-shift stabilization.
Steves-Digicams has reviewed the CX1 and felt that there were "fery few things that I could find "wrong" with this camera." The reviewer felt that its image quality is superior to most of its competitors, offered very fast performance, and was an "outstanding" value at its retail price of $379.

| Review (Summary): "The Ricoh CX1 ($369) is a compact metal camera featuring a 9.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, a powerful 7.1X optical zoom lens, sensor-shift image stabilization, a super-sharp 3-inch LCD, 4 frame/second continuous shooting, and a VGA movie mode (bah). ...
Without a doubt, photo quality is the Ricoh CX1's weak point. While exposure was generally good, and colors pleasing, the CX1 suffers from too much noise reduction. This smudges away fine details, even at the base sensitivity (ISO 80). ..." |

| Review (Summary): ""World Exclusive! The Ricoh CX1 is a new point-and-shoot digital camera that focuses on one key area - image quality. At its heart is a new 9 megapixel CMOS sensor and image processing engine, the combination of which promises expanded dynamic range, lower noise and faster operation.
The CX1's new DR shooting mode combines two images shot with different exposures to create one image with more detail in the shadows and highlights, while a fast continuous burst mode of 4fps should ensure that you don't miss the action. There's also an amazing high-resolution LCD screen, 7x optical zoom lens and a veritable wealth of options to keep even the most ardent photographer happy. The Ricoh CX1 is available now for £299 in the UK - we find out if it's the real deal in our latest in-depth review..." |
