Kyocera Finecam M410R Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 8.00 (out of 10)
The rather odd subhead on this review speaks to the unique breakthroughs the second-generation image processor of the Kyocera M410R offers. Using "RTUNE" hard-wired processing blocks, which perform many functions simultaneously that were previously done in sequence, Kyocera claims that the processing is so fast that the camera buffer never fills. This is what allows you to shoot, for example, 3.3 frames per second (2 fps in continuous AF) until the memory card is filled (given that you have a high-speed card loaded).

| Kyocera is another one of those companies that you don't think of what you start naming digital camera manufacturers. But the huge Japanese conglomerate is trying to change that through marketing and new developments like the RTUNE engine used on their latest cameras. One of those cameras is the Finecam M410R ($399), Kyocera's entry into the red-hot ultra zoom category. While it may look like just another ultra zoom camera, the M410R's claim to fame is it's ability to shoot continuously at 3.3 frames/second until the memory card is full. Wow! |

| The combination of RTune technology, a 10X zoom lens, and unlimited 30fps VGA video capture should make this a very appealing camera for demanding snapshot photographers when it ships in March. |
