Olympus Stylus 760 Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 8.33 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "On Tuesday I reviewed the Olympus mju 780, the mid-range model from the popular range of weatherproof compacts. Today I'm taking a look at a similar model from the lower end of the range, the mju 760. I don't usually review two such similar cameras so close together, but Olympus wants its cameras back tomorrow so I have no choice. Not to worry though, because although the mju 760 does share many features with the 780 it also has several important differences and is certainly worthy of its own review. ...
In most respects the Olympus mju 760 is a typical feature-starved budget-priced 3x zoom pocket compact, but superior build quality, stylish design, excellent low-light focusing and of course its weatherproof body set it apart from the crowd. ..."

| Review: "As with all of its siblings, the Stylus 760's most distinctive feature is its sleek, weather-resistant metal body. The stylish camera, measuring less than an inch thick and weighing only 4.5 ounces, is small and light enough to fit into almost any pocket and comes in light blue, pink, black, and silver versions.
Though its images aren't perfect and it's a bit sluggish, the Olympus Stylus 760 is still a good compact camera. Its light, pocketable design and logical, simple features make it a fine choice for anyone who wants a small camera he or she can take nearly anywhere." |

| Review (Summary): "The Olympus Stylus 760 offers both hardware image stabilization and software anti-blur in a very pocket friendly body. The Stylus 760 includes both a seven megapixel CCD image sensor and Olympus-branded 3x optical zoom lens, as well as a 2.5" LCD display with 230,000 pixels. ...
Looking at the Stylus 760's images, I found myself a little disappointed with its color handling. I personally like nice, bright, saturated colors, and I just didn't feel I was getting them from this camera. Reds were OK, and bright blues looked pretty snappy too, but most shades of green looked just a little dull to me. But then, as I said, I like pretty bright colors in my photos. If you're more inclined toward more natural-looking color, you might like the 760's shots just fine. ... |
