Casio EXILIM EX-Z75 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.83 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "Casio is well-known for producing some of the sleekest cameras on the market and the 7.2 megapixel EX-Z75 is no exception. Slim enough to fit into a tight pocket or small purse, you can carry this camera anywhere. ...
If you keep the Z75 at ISO 50 and shoot in daylight, you'll be reasonably happy with the pictures, but if you venture indoors, your images will be soft and slightly noisy. Noise and noise suppression both muddle the images badly enough that it's tough to give the Casio Z75 the high marks we want to for its other aspects. ..."

| Review (Summary): "The good thing about slim cameras is that they give the same features as all other cameras but without the bulkiness and so just fit in a pocket. Casio are one of a select few manufacturers that are turning up the heat on super slim designs and with the EX-Z75, they will burn a few fingers.
... I am a little confused by who Casio are aiming this camera at. The Easy mode and lack of ISO ratings suggest that it is aimed at happy snappers while the vast menu suggests users who want to expand. If you are after a camera to stick in your pocket, that has a ton of preset features, a point and shoot mode and you aren't bothered about the zoom, then this camera will be ideal." |

| Review (Summary): "On the surface so many 3x zoom compact digicams look virtually identical. How do you tell them apart, and what really separates one 3x zoom budget digicam from the next? A lot of times it comes down to the little things, like menu navigation, fit and finish, and price, that make one compact camera a better deal than the next. Here we look at two cameras that at first glance could be mistaken for one another - the Pentax Optio M30 (street $174.95) and the Casio Exilim EXZ75 (street $229.99), to see if there's really a difference beneath their almost identical skins.
In using both cameras, I found the Pentax to be very likable and clearly the leader in this race. The only real area where the Casio prevailed was in its easy to use menu system. But the shortcomings of the Casio - including the button design, lower quality screen, lesser build quality and overall slow performance - is nagging. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "... As Casio will readily admit, the Z75 is a very basic upgrade of the existing EX-Z70. Aside from the Z75's 2.6-inch (instead of 2.5-inch) wide-screen LCD, the two cameras are almost identical. We just wish that the slightly larger screen brought more pixels with it, but alas, we found it just as coarse as its predecessor's.
Given its price, and the fact that most cameras in this price range yield similar image quality and often slower performance, the Casio Exilim EX-Z75 is actually a decent deal and sports a more attractive design than much of its competition. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "The 7-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z75...continues Casio's tradition of good-looking, ultra-thin digital cameras. It carries a 3x optical zoom lens, a redesigned 2.6-inch LCD screen, and Casio's anti-shake DSP system. The Casio EX-Z75, with an original price of $229.99, dropped to $199.99, is currently Casio's lowest-priced model. ...
While the outside looks good, the inside needs some work. The Casio EX-Z75 runs a little behind the times. Consumers shouldn’t expect to find advanced features like mid-range optical zoom (above 3x) or optical image stabilization at the $200 price point, but the Exilim EX-Z75 is bested by some of its competitors that offer face detection technology, higher sensitivity ranges, or wide panoramic shooting capabilities. ..." |
