The Panasonic DMC-FX30 is a camera that produces mixed reactions. It allows capturing fleeting moments thanks to a fast auto focus and a negligible shutter delay. The images the camera yields have an excellent colour rendition, exposures turn out perfectly without any particular effort on the part of the photographer, and images print very well. At the same time, this is a camera that is clearly sensitive to noise, yielding its best results when given plenty of bright light and when the photographer tries to avoid framing shots that contain numerous shadow areas. ..."

I have to keep reminding myself this is "just" a point-and-shoot digital camera. But it has manual WB for accurate color reproduction when it matters; it even gives you WB adjust if you really want the color to be exact! Live Histogram. Framing Guide and Live Histogram together. One of the best and logical menu structure I've used. Very clear and smooth LCD display. Plus, fast performance and no practical shutter lag - all in all, a delightful total user experience."
Review (Summary): "With a street price of around £234, the DMC-FX30 is at the lower end of the market, but it does have some notable features, headlining with a 28mm equivalent field of view lens. It's up against cameras like Samsung's L70 and Nikon's Coolpix S500.
The inclusion of anti-shake, optical technology is fairly radical at this price point, but in reality, it will make a difference on a fairly small bandwidth of shutter speeds. Of much more practical use is the 28mm lens, which makes it easier to compose wider landscape shots, and also to get people into group shots. Really, it's a must-have feature for compacts, and it's surprising that more cameras don't have it...
