HP B9180 Printer vs. Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 vs. Epson R2400 Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 8.78 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "Generally I hate doing group tests, I prefer to cover each printer in greater depth. However, over the last three years I have covered all three printers with their own interactive reviews. Believe it or not the Epson was reviewed in June 2005, which makes this printer the oldest in the group. Perhaps it may be unfair to include the Epson against the other two, but I have confidence that it will hold its own. ...

For those readers who have not participated in our interactive reviews, this is how they work. I test the printers and publish as I go along, generally I try to keep in all the details on each test, although I may add one or two paragraphs as I discover better ways of doing things. ..."

Review: "We are all on a quest for the definitive digital camera, scanner or printer. Over the last few years we have seen dramatic improvements in all areas of digital photography and particularly in the printing sector.....

Although HP announced this printer at PMA in February, the full production units didn't ship until September. HP jumped the gun far too early with their announcement, I don't blame them, especially when you see what advanced features this printer has. I have withheld publishing the interactive review until I received a full production printer, which I now have, together with the latest drivers.

OK, so the question that's on the tip of your tongues has to be "How does the B9180 compare to the Epson R2400" ?- I will give you the full answer at the end of the Interactive Review, but in short, I am confident that the B9180 is going to make manufacturers look twice at their own range...."

The 9180 is the first HP photo printer to use the new Vivera Pigment inks and writing system. The printer is designed from the ground up with new technology in every aspect of the printer, and externally in software. It is a Photosmart printer so the ease of use is still maintained yet there are advanced options available in software. Any person interested in printing valuable archival prints can operate the printer. ...
