Ricoh Caplio R6 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.76 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "There are few cameras on the market at the moment that even come close to the R6's specification, and none that can match it on price. It is currently available for just £224.95, which is significantly cheaper than the broadly similar Panasonic TZ3 at £250. The TZ3 has a longer 10x zoom range (28-280mm equiv.) but is both larger and heavier, and has a smaller, lower resolution monitor.
The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a fantastically versatile all-round camera, an improvement in almost every way on the already impressive R5, offering a winning combination of style, build quality, performance and image quality. It is loaded with more features than almost any other camera on the market, and certainly more than any other in its price range. I would happily buy a Caplio R6 myself."

| Review (Summary): "The Ricoh Caplio R6 was announced at the start of March, just 6 months after its predecessor, the R5. New features on the Ricoh R6 include a Face Recognition mode, following the trend set by most new 2007 cameras, larger 2.7 inch LCD screen, redesigned user interface, slimmer body, file recovery option and 54Mb internal memory. The Ricoh R6 retains the same massive 7x optical zoom lens, which is equivalent to 28-200mm on a 35mm camera. ...
The main attractions of the R6 remain the same as its predecessors, namely a point and shoot camera that can easily fit in your pocket, with a massive 7x wide-angle optical zoom lens and speedy performance that easily beats the competition. ..." |

| Review (Summary): " ...Unless you're in the know. One of the industry's secret weapons, Ricoh make high quality digital compacts for consumers and professionals alike. Having now released their Caplio R6, Ricoh wants a lot more of your attention. I picked up an R6 to see what they've got.
...In all, Ricoh have squeezed a lot into a very small package. Credit must go to them for making a camera that performs so well and does so much. Slip an R6 in your pocket and you'll be ready for all occasions." |

| Review (Summary): "The word ‘awesome' has lost a lot of its impact, but it's more than justifiable to use it when summing up the Ricoh Caplio R6. The unbelievably compact Ricoh Caplio R6 boasts not only a 35mm equivalent 28-200mm zoom lens, but an array of old and new features that will (quite honestly) blow you away. ...
If you're after a point-and-click camera, then the Ricoh Caplio R6 isn't for you. The shutter lag is dreadful but, admittedly, can be improved by turning off the shake correction. But if you want a pocket-sized zoom camera that can handle virtually any situation, then you really, really, need to buy this." |
