Canon Powershot SD750 Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 9.00 (out of 10)
Review (Summary): "Sandwiched between similar 7-megapixel siblings-the PowerShot SD800 IS on one side and the PowerShot SD1000 on the other-the Canon PowerShot SD750 nevertheless manages to distinguish itself as a well-designed, practical option for snapshooters who favor big LCDs over optical viewfinders.

It lacks the image stabilization of the SD800 IS and the tiny appeal of the SD1000, but the Canon PowerShot SD750 has a more elegant, cutting-edge design, large LCD and-to my eyes, at least-better photo quality."

Review (Summary): "A feature-packed little camera, the Canon SD750 offers seven megapixels and a whopping 3 inch LCD display which serves as the only option for image framing - it forgoes any form of optical viewfinder. The Canon SD750's 3x zoom lens covers a fairly average range from 35-105mm equivalent, a moderate wide-angle to a moderate telephoto. ...

... the Canon SD750's image quality was the biggest disappointment. Most of my images were soft throughout, skies were strangely blued and shade shots showed a pronounced blue color cast. All of this was barely detectable on the Canon SD750's large, bright LCD, which just made for greater disappointment. ..."

Review (Summary): Updated 8/13/2007 -- The Canon PowerShot SD750 is a skinny digital camera with a fat LCD screen. The screen measures a whopping 3 inches diagonally, which doesn't leave much room on the 3.6-inch wide backside. The camera packs in face detection technology, but its specs are otherwise standard. It has Automatic Exposure modes, 7.1 megapixels, and a 3x optical zoom lens. The PowerShot SD750 sells for $349.

... There is more to the camera than the LCD screen, of course. It takes great pictures, and this can't be said of all compact digital cameras. The Canon SD750 had nearly perfect color production that held up even in very dim lighting. The image quality only suffered when the ISO was hiked up, which caused a notable amount of noise. ..."
