Hands-on Preview: "Casio's latest top of the range flagship is the Casio EX-V7 digital camera that was announced at PMA 2007 in Las Vegas. We were able to get a first look hands on with the new 7 megapixel camera.
On a first look, the Casio EX-V7 looks to offer a good feature set in a compact case. The sliding lens does add to the bulk of the model and the zoom toggle a tiny bit of discomfort when using it, however the picture quality is good, and the H.264 recording option for video a welcomed inclusion."

| Review (Summary): "Casio has recently introduced the Exilim EX-V7. The numeral in the name refers to both its 7.2-megapixel resolution, and the 7x zoom ability of its unusual non-protruding lens. The lens configuration means that the camera can be very small. In fact it's just 95.5 x 59.8 x 25.5mm, and 149g excluding battery and card, which isn't much bigger than some of Casio’s 3x zoom ultra-compact models. This unusual design comes at a price though. ...

| Review (Summary): "The Casio EX-V7 is one of the those cameras that works better on paper than it does 'in the flesh'. The combination of ultra-compact design, 7x zoom, mechanical stabilization and rich feature set is an alluring one, and one that makes the EX-V7 one of the most powerful 'pocket cameras' we've seen to date - a real case of 'having your cake a eating it'.
If the image stabilization worked we could probably forgive the long list of image quality niggles. Many of these issues are fairly minor, and many won't really bother the typical user, but they do start to add up, and taken as a whole the output simply isn't good enough to earn the EX-V7 our recommendation. ..." |

Fitting a 7X zoom into a camera the size of the Casio Exilim EX-V7 is quite remarkable, and the fact that the 7X optical zoom lens is entirely internal - nothing sticks out past the front of the camera when the camera is on - is even more so. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "At first glance, Casio's Exilim EX-V7 looks like a typical, humdrum compact camera. It borrows the sliding lens cover design made popular by Sony's T-series cameras, has a 7.2 megapixel CCD sensor and a 2.5-inch LCD, and though heavier than most cameras its size, you should feel comfortable carrying it in a pocket. On closer inspection, you'll notice that the lens covers a 7x optical zoom range, covering the equivalent of 38mm to 266mm. Also, Casio includes sensor shift (aka mechanical) image stabilization to help minimize blurry pictures with that long lens.
We give Casio credit for trying to push the limits of the compact camera market, but ultimately found this model's interface made it annoyingly awkward to use. Add its mediocre image quality to that and we find it hard to recommend this camera...." |

| Review (Summary): "The Casio Exilim V7 is a middle range digital compact camera with its 7 million pixels. This is more than enough for everyday photography, in fact, it is a standard resolution. The Casio Exilim EX-V7 has Casio’s newest processor, the Exilim Engine 2.0. This processor provides the camera with Autotracking AF, so that the autofocus follows the subject’s movement, controls for clarity so that dark photos are prevented, and controls for color aberrations. Furthermore, colors can be corrected directly and placed in perspective. The processor is a valuable application, indeed. ...
