Canon Powershot A630 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 6.50 (out of 10)
Review: "The Powershot A630 features a 2.5-inch vari-angle LCD screens, 4x optical zoom, Digic II processor, and an 8.0 megapixel CCD. It also has a maximum ISO 800 sensitivity setting and a 'Safety Zoom' feature.
...As with previous models in the Powershot series the A630 offers class, style, excellent image quality, swift performance, and a huge array of exposure modes. Plus it also allows you to attach extra lenses (if required.) and did I mention the camera burps out 8 MP images as well?"

| Review: "The PowerShot A630 and A640 are two lower priced cameras that offer the manual controls and expandability usually reserved for more expensive cameras. Both cameras feature 4X zoom lens, a rotating 2.5" LCD display, a VGA movie mode, and unlimited continuous shooting.
If you've been visiting this site for a long time, then you already know that I like Canon's A-series cameras. The PowerShot A630 and A640 are just as good as their predecessors, offering high resolution CCDs, full manual controls, a large rotating LCD, expandability, and more. While they're not perfect and are pretty bulky, they are very easy to recommend to just about anyone." |

| Review: "This slightly pricey, 8-megapixel compact isn't super-trim and sexy, but it works very well in lots of situations. The PowerShot A630 packs an amazing array of useful features and is incredibly simple to operate. Despite the cost, there is plenty to love.
Put simply, the Canon PowerShot A630 is a balanced, well-featured compact digital camera. It may not be the cheapest on the market, but it's well worth the investment. Because of its great versatility and dependability, it's my newest EC for a compact digital camera." |

| Review: "The Canon PowerShot A630 couples an 8.0-megapixel CCD imaging sensor with a 4x optical zoom lens that offers a 35mm-equivalent focal range of 35-140mm, a moderate wide-angle to a somewhat more generous telephoto than you'll find on most compact cameras. Maximum apertures vary from f/2.8 to f/4.1 across the zoom range. The A630's sensor yields an ISO range equivalent to 80 to 800, while shutter speeds from 1/2,500 to 15 seconds are possible.
It's easy to see why Canon PowerShots continue to be popular. Their design is user friendly and well-built, the pictures are great, and they're easy to shoot.....the Canon A630 is a classic; just an excellent all-around digital camera, and an easy choice as a Dave's Pick." |
