Review: "The Fujifilm Finepix F31fd is the successor to the popular Finepix F30 model, retaining its manual controls in the form of aperture-priority and shutter-priority modes, while adding Face Detection, a new technology that automatically enables it to identify up to 10 faces in a frame, optimize settings and capture an image within just 0.05 seconds.
With the addition of Face Detection and Infra-red, the Fujifilm Finepix F31fd is currently the new best compact, carry-everywhere digital camera for the discerning photographer. There are still a few unnecessary faults though that are retained from the F11 model (come on Fujifilm!), and all that new technology has made the F31fd quite a lot more expensive than its older sibling, the F30, which is overall a more economical and sensible purchase."

| Review (Summary): "In the fast-moving, 'bigger better faster' world of the digital compact the Fujifilm FinePix F30 will be one of the rare few that are remembered after they have gone (the nearest this throwaway business gets to a 'classic'). The reason this unassuming, blocky little camera stands out from the scores of other cameras launched last year - and why it has a mantelpiece covered in industry awards - is simple; image quality, or more specifically, high ISO performance. ...
... But you just can't take away from Fuji the fact that - at this moment in time - this unassuming little 6MP camera still sets the benchmark for image quality in the entire compact sector. It's also a surprisingly reliable 'point and shoot' model with excellent color and accurate focus/metering in most circumstances." |

| Review: "In appearance the F31fd is, unsurprisingly, virtually identical to the F30, with only the addition of a small rubberized grip on the front panel detailing, and an extra label on one of the rear panel buttons - which activates the Face Detection system - to tell the two models apart. It has the same strong all-metal body finished in a attractive anodized semi-matte texture, the same 3x zoom f/2.8 - f/5.0 Fujinon lens, and the same 230,000 pixel non-reflective 2.5in LCD monitor as its older sibling.
Like its predecessor the F30, the Fujifilm FinePix F31fd has the best high-ISO performance on the market, as well as a number of other useful features, not least of which is class-leading battery duration. Build quality, style, performance and photographic results are also as good as anything else on the market. However the Face Detection technology is probably not enough to justify the relatively high price compared to the outstanding F30." |

| Review: "Fujifilm's F-series of digital cameras showcases the manufacturer's newest technology, beginning with the F10's speed and nearly noise-free pictures to the most recent addition of face detection and communication technology. The Fujifilm FinePix F31fd swipes many of the F30's great characteristics and adds in a few more perks.
...The techy digital camera comes as a jazzed up version of the F30. Fujifilm's F30 was a good thing, and it is made better in the F31fd. The combination of cool technology, manual control, and all-around easy functionality makes the Fujifilm FinePix F31fd a standout digital camera." |
