Epson Stylus Photo RX700 Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 9.00 (out of 10)
Review: "he RX700 is the flagship model in Epson's new range of all-in-one printers (the other three are the RX 600, 620 and the RX640) and as such offers the most comprehensive set of tools in the range. For starters you get 5760 x 1440dpi print resolution, there’s a flatbed scanner offering up to 3200 x 6400ppi resolution complete with a 35mm transparency (slide film and negatives) scanner catering to strips of six unmounted frames or four mounted slides. As well as the transparency hood the RX700 offers built in copier functionality able to produce copies up to photo quality standard.

A quality scanner and printer with copier functionality makes lots of sense for anyone with limited work space in the home or the office and while the footprint of the RX700 is not the smallest, it packs a great output/input quality punch."

Review: "he Epson Stylus RX700 multi-purpose inkjet photo printer is an all-in-one minus one: fax. It prints, copies, and scans (including slides and negatives), and prints photos and CDs/DVDs. The Stylus RX700 can take your old slides and negatives and turn them into prints in mere minutes - impressive. The RX700 even has a photo restoration feature to bring photos, slides and negatives back to life. While it doesn't have a physical fax onboard, you can take advantage of the TWAIN drivers to scan and use your own software to fax directly from your PC.

How does the quality of Epson Stylus RX700 prints stack up to the Canon Pixma MP500 all-in-one printer? The MP500 produces colors that are closer to the original but introduces some purple across the board giving the image a washed out feel when placed side by side with the RX700's output. The RX700's images are brighter with more contrast, but yellower than the original, giving it more of an artificial look. Both do well with details. "
