Epson P-4000 Photo/Media Player Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 4.50 (out of 10)
Review: "The Epson P-4000 Multimedia Storage Viewer is a portable storage device that allows you to download digital photos and movies onto its 80Gb hard-drive and then view them on its 3.8 inch colour LCD screen. The Epson P4000 has built-in card slots for Compact Flash and SD memory cards and it also supports XD, Memory Stick, Smart Media and MMC cards via an optional adapter.
The Epson P-4000 currently represents the best compromise between having a laptop computer or one of the other portable storage devices on the market. You can use the Epson P-4000 both out in the field where speed, battery life and successful data transfers are key, and later for showing your work to clients, friends and family."

| Review: "The Epson P-4000 is the latest version of Epson's hard drive–based photo viewer/media player. Although the only truly significant change from the Epson P-2000 is a larger hard drive—the P-4000 holds 80GB of photos, video, and audio—we decided to take it for a test run and compare it with many of the other popular portable media players that have been released in the market since the P-2000 came out. Overall, the P-4000 is still the hands-down winner on screen quality (thanks to its ultragorgeous 3.8-inch LCD). If you're a professional photographer or enthusiast looking for a convenient way to offload and view your high-res images on the slickest-looking screen in the biz, this is an excellent choice."

| Review: "Epson's P4000 viewer is a compact high-capacity storage and multimedia viewer device that seems to offer a great combination of screen quality, memory card compatibility, and durability.
Still image file support includes JPEG and RAW for most makes of digital camera. Whatever the type of data (movies, still images or audio) it can all be stored within "albums" and selected for playback either on the P4000's screen and speaker (or you can use stereo headphones via a 3.5mm headphone jack) or on a TV by plugging the device into a TV with an optional (not supplied) AV lead." |

| Review: "I get many questions from readers, pros, and people I meet who don't trust putting their images into a portable storage device, hoping that they'll safely be there (in the card) when they get back from a vacation. After all, the gadget has a simple job to do; it must safely hold your image files until you download them onto your computer. There are many kinds of portable contraptions that can accomplish this task, even Apple's iPod, but what sets the Epson P-4000 apart from the rest is the big screen.
During the editing process, the P-4000's zoom controls let you take a critical look at specific photographs to ensure they're sharp or see if people's eyes are open in group photos. Intuitive menus make it easy to organize files, so you can quickly access or view them." |
