Canon Powershot SD600 / IXUS 60 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 6.00 (out of 10)
Review: "Canon has once again produced a camera that performs extremely well, provides a simple to use and satisfying shooting experience and that can produce nice results. All courtesy of technology such as iSAPs (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic space), which works just like an expert program to automatically set the camera to the correct settings for the scene you present it with."

| Review: "The Canon Digital IXUS 60 (Powershot SD600 in the U.S.) is able to maintain a somewhat classical appearance without becoming boring. The Japanese designer must have an amazing eye for contemporary design, as virtually every single thing having to do with the IXUS name seems to guarantee success.
The Canon IXUS 60 is pleasant to operate. Despite the innovative technique, the camera keeps its low entry level, which ensures that virtually everyone is able to work with it right away. The Canon Digital IXUS 60 carries out practically all actions automatically, or offers pre-programmed scenes that enable the user to unleash all his creativity." |

| Review: "A lot of cameras in the crowded and competitive digital point-and-shoot market are all flash and no substance. They add all sorts of extra gimmicks such as fancy slide shows and colorful borders that don't actually contribute to the cameras' pictures. Canon thumbs its nose at that design philosophy with the simple yet functional PowerShot SD600, a 6-megapixel point-and-shoot camera that's light on features but heavy on image quality, performance, and usability. It's simply a great camera for anyone interested in just taking great-looking images.
The Canon PowerShot SD600 boasts excellent performance, with fast start-up and responsive shooting. The quick shutter lags no more than 0.7 second, even in dim light. We measured a quick shot-to-shot speed of 1.5 seconds, which bumps up only slightly to 2.1 seconds with the flash enabled. Burst mode proves equally fast, delivering about 2.1fps."
