Review: "The Panasonic DMC-LS2 is the new entry-level compact digital camera in Panasonic's range, offering a 5 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and 2 inch LCD screen. The LS2, as with all Panasonic cameras, features the company's MEGA O.I.S optical image stabilisation system for shake-free photos.
Indeed, the 5 megapixel 1/2.5 inch sensor used in the DMC-LS2 is not as noisy as those used in other Panasonic cameras that I have tested, with ISO 80-200 being perfectly usable. This means that in conjunction with the Mega O.I.S system, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS2 can deal with most shooting situations, both indoors and out."

| Hands-On Preview: "The Panasonic Lumix LS2 pushes the price point for optical image stabilization, with Panasonic's full-blown MEGA O.I.S. in a 5 megapixel compact camera for under $200. The small, 3x zoom camera would be price-competitive without stabilization as it is – with it, the camera should be awfully interesting to snapshot users on a budget. On top of that, the Lumix LS2 has a white balance system that's surprisingly more flexible than the ones on most DSLRs.
We hope that Panasonic starts a trend by offering such low-cost image stabilization. We're not sure competitors will or can do it as well; MEGA O.I.S. appears to be very good stabilization on the Lumix LS2, and has been excellent on previous Panasonics. The Lumix LS2's automatic modes seem solid: in limited testing they delivered good exposures and correct focus. We look forward to the chance to give it a closer look, and to examine the noise levels in a controlled environment." |

| Review: "Announced on the 4th of January 06, the Panasonic Lumix LS2 is a new 5 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2" screen and a compact plastic body. The 3x optical zoom lens is equiv. 35-105mm on a 35mm camera.
The camera is very easy to use in any mode, the easy mode and the scene modes help beginners. The controls on the back of the camera are straightforward and very well labelled - the menus are responsive and easy to read and navigate, and the options are big enough. The modes are easy to access, quick and simple, mainly thanks to the clearly labelled mode dial. The economy mode helps you get better battery life.
The Panasonic Lumix LS2 is a budget digital camera from Panasonic, but it is very difficult to see where they have "compromised" in any way to reduce the price - the only missing features appear to be the lack of sound on videos and the smaller than average 2" screen. Despite the budget price, Panasonic produce a very good camera, providing optical image stabilisation, an orientation sensor, custom white balance, features rarely seen on budget models." |

| Review: "With a five-megapixel CCD, a 3x zoom and a new 1-point high speed Autofocus option, the LS2 has plenty of functionality while still listing for less than $200. Where it sets itself apart from cameras like the Canon A530 and Sony S600 is that the LS2 offers Panasonic's mega-helpful MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.), which is great for reducing blur from handshake.
Unfortunately, the LS2 needs the optical image stabilization to make up for its shortcomings in terms of low light and flash performance. Auto white balance performs well, nonetheless, and we appreciated its tame approach to sharpening and color saturation. The Panasonic LS2 also offers 5 megapixel resolution good macro focusing, and excellent battery life." |

| "The Panasonic LS2 is very affordable and easy-to-use. Image quality is average and on the noisy side. It would be suitable for entry-level and first-time digital camera users who will be mostly printing at 4x6 in. and displaying for the Web. To many, the very effective Image Stabilizer will be the main selling point: it helps avoid blurred pictures due to camera shake." |
