Kodak EasyShare V530 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 5.00 (out of 10)
"The Kodak EasyShare V530 hit the market in July 2005 and received a price reduction in November to make the camera an affordable choice for holiday buyers. Kodak shed fifty bucks from the original price tag so the stylish 5 megapixel digital camera is now $299.95.
The movie mode is pretty impressive for such a small digital camera. It shoots video at both 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 pixels and does so at a smooth 30 frame-per-second rate. The optical zoom can be used while recording, although it does produce some noise. The Kodak V530 has a digital image stabilization system that works surprisingly well during movie recording."

| Of all the tests we ran on the V530, we were most amazed by its times on our performance tests, which were some of the speediest we've seen. The 1.1-second recycle time was simply astounding, beating the SD300's time by more than 4 seconds, and there was no shutter lag whatsoever. In fact, the response of the lens rivaled that of digital SLRs. And although the V530's bootup time wasn't as speedy as the SD300's, it was still very impressive, at 2.8 seconds. |

| Review: "The Kodak EasyShare V530 is clearly a revised and more economical version of last year's V550. The V530 carries on the basic rectangular design of the V550, but with less elaborate external controls, and a smaller 2-inch monitor.
The V530 is compact, light, and simple to use. It is designed to be easily carried around and be available at a moment's notice. Its controls and features avoid complexity, making it an ideal entry-level camera for those who prefer point and shoot type cameras. And, when its photos are printed, especially at standard sizes such as 4x6 and 5x7, the V530's images stand out as well-saturated and bright." |
