HP Photosmart 475 GoGo Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 6.00 (out of 10)
"HP's £199 Photosmart 475 delivers easy printing and picture storage on the go, and several unique features make it more flexible than its sibling, the Photosmart 375, and rival portable printers. Print quality doesn't match a lot of the competition, and the price tag is offputting, but this is still a good buy.
If the image quality were better, we wouldn't hesitate to offer the Photosmart 475 a Gold award. It's attractive and fully functional, and had some interesting features that are sure to come to the attention of the competition."

| "With digital photography comes a stack load of images, but once you’ve taken them, what then? HP’s answer is to offer a compact portable printer with a built in hard drive, but is this really the answer?
If you’ve got a computer then probably best to opt for the Photosmart 385 (the model below this) as the storage isn’t really a necessity. However if you're desperate to get on the digital camera train, but already getting fed up of not being able to keep your images this is a very good way out of your dilemma." |

| The HP Photosmart 475 is an impressive and snappy portable printer that takes the drudgery out of printing. You no longer are forced to boot your computer or run some complex, multi-step piece of software. Printing can be as simple as inserting a memory card and pressing the Print button or connecting the camera directly through the PictBridge interface. |

| I must say that I hadn't always warmed up to the idea of printing my own pictures at home; I questioned the quality, durability, and cost of doing so. Testing the HP Photosmart 475 has changed my view completely-I was stunned with the results I got. The printer surpassed all my expectations in terms of quality and durability. Especially noteworthy is its ability to store pictures internally, with 1.5GB of onboard memory, which works out to over 1000 pictures! The question left to answer now is whether it's really worth the investment. |

| Ever put together a wish list of the features you'd want in the ideal small-format photo printer? Well, you don't have to, because HP's pretty much done it for you and built the printer, too. The ink jet–based HP Photosmart 475 GoGo Photo Printer ($279 direct) has the usual convenience features, including a 2.5-inch color LCD for previewing photos. You'll also find premium extras, most notably an internal hard disk and the ability to print at up to 5 by 7 inches and panoramas at 4 by 12 inches. Even better, HP has managed to build a printer for bigger photos than usual without making the printer itself all that big. |
