Nikon Coolpix S3 Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.24 (out of 10)
When having seen the Coolpix S-series before, you might not be that surprised anymore by the design of the camera. But in case you are holding the Nikon S3 for the first time, the design really shows its beauty. It's a real gadget, a design that truly distinguishes itself from the majority of the cameras. Besides the beautiful design, mainly the user friendliness and the well thought-out corporation with the intelligent software stand out on the Nikon Coolpix S3 digital camera.
With the introduction of the Coolpix S2 Nikon has definitely taken the path of design. And that the design is successful may be clear. It's convincing and out in the street people keep commenting on it in a positive way. The user-friendliness and the ease of shooting make the concept convincing. The Nikon S3 digital camera is perfect for those who like to always carry a design camera with them to capture the world around him or her with a beautiful snapshot. The high resolution of 6 Megapixels in combination with the intelligent software guarantees an excellent print. The Nikon Coolpix S3 certainly is worth taking in your hands and letting yourself be surprised by the, in my opinion, successful concept!

| "Slim and light, the Nikon Coolpix S3 ranks among the smallest digital cameras currently on the market. A camera that can nearly be eclipsed by an ordinary credit card, the Nikon S3 is designed to fit nicely into shirt pockets, pants pockets, and small purses, perfect for anyone as a take-everywhere camera.
...The Coolpix S3 delivers very bright, snappy-looking photos with vibrant, hue-accurate color and good detail for making large prints. The S3's very bright color will appeal to the majority of consumers, but may be a bit much for those accustomed to the more restrained color of higher-end and professional digital camera models." |

| "The successor to Nikon's Coolpix S2, the 6 megapixel Coolpix S3, is a camera that looks very similar to its predecessors with a lot of the same features, such as the Zoom-Nikkor Lens, 17 scene modes, and Nikon's BSS and D-Lighting features. Since I haven't reviewed any of the previous offerings, I am simply going to write this review in the perspective of a first time buyer or amateur photographer, since the Coolpix S3 is made for such a purpose and not as a replacement for SLR cameras.
Overall, the Coolpix S3 is a beautiful camera, with an impressive size, a few useful options and capable of taking great pictures. The faults, however, are the flash, grainy LCD, and its steep price tag..." |
