Epson Stylus Photo RX620 Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.00 (out of 10)
Space the final frontier...at least it is in my office. One of the joys of using an all-in-one device such as Epson's Stylus Photo RX620 is that it saves desktop space while providing the functionality of several computer peripherals. Yup, it slices, dices, chops&oops, sorry wrong product. The Stylus Photo RX620 combines copying, printing and scanning in a relatively compact package that sells for less than $300. But is it any good?

Epson's Photo RX620 (456x439x299mm, 10kg) is a robust and high performing all-in-one photo centre for photo enthusiasts. Placing the emphasis on high resolution printing and scanning, the Stylus Photo RX620 all-in-one offers a complete solution for home photo users working from both digital and analogue photo sources, but will be especially appreciated by those who have a portfolio of film-based images. It's not the fastest printer on the block, but its results are definitely worth the wait. The Stylus Photo RX620 is an outstanding value-for-money offering for discerning photographers.

"The conventional wisdom that all-in-one printer/scanners always entail unacceptable compromises is about to fall flat on its face. Epson has taken the best engines from its top consumer photo printers and semi-pro scanners and produced the best AIO machine we've ever seen. The RX620's ($299 MSRP) unique film negative/transparency scanning features and computerless image correction technology put this device in a class by itself.

I don't usually get worked up over a mere printer or scanner and never expected to be so excited about an all-in-one, but the Epson RX620 has made a believer of me."

For the small office user where space is always an important factor, having an all-in-one printer, copier and scanner can certainly be appealing, but are you restricting yourself by having an all in one solution, and more importantly is the sum of all parts together better than the individual units on their own? We put the RX620 to the test.
