Olympus D-580 Zoom Review
|
Review Summary
Reader Score: 8.00 (out of 10)
The D-580 Zoom's picture quality was good, with accurate exposures, pleasing flesh tones, and rich colors. However, noise that was barely noticeable at lower ISO settings became pronounced when lower light levels triggered an automatic ISO boost from 200 to 400. Red eye was sometimes a problem, even with the camera's red-eye-reduction feature enabled.

| The Olympus D-580 is a great camera for the home user. It comes with a wide array of features, and the 3x optical zoom is excellent. The picture quality may not be up to par with the professional cameras, but in this price range it is incredible. Pictures come out sharp, well focused, and balanced. |

| The D-580 earned an average overall score in our image quality tests. Outdoor images showed realistic colors and plenty of detail in areas of shadow. Color accuracy and skin tone quality looked good in our still life test. Our flash portrait shot was somewhat overexposed, however, overhighlighting our model's skin tone. |
