Canon PIXMA MP760 Photo All-In-One Review

Review Summary
Reader Score: 7.29 (out of 10)
Whether you work with film or with a digital camera, the $300 Canon Pixma MP760 is a great multifunction unit for printing photos. It's one of only two MFPs we've tested so far that include a film holder and a light in the lid for scanning slides and negatives (the other is the Epson Stylus Photo RX620). The MP760's card slots can read most memory formats (other than XD Picture Cards), and images transfer swiftly to a PC through the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port. Alternatively, you can connect a PictBridge-compatible camera to the MP760's direct-print port.

Canon's New PIXMA MP760 Photo All-In-One, introduced at PMA 2005, is Canon's first All-In-One that could be called an "At Home Photo Lab." The large 2.5" color LCD screen and integrated 8-in-1 memory card reader allow printing directly from memory cards - without a PC. In addition, the MP760 features a built-in full color photo scanner, which will scan documents, magazines or photos as large as 8.5" x 11.7", as well as 35mm negatives and slides - thanks to the integrated backlighting. At a suggested street price of $299, the MP760 gives you more per-square-foot than any other multi-function in its class. Is the Canon PIXMA MP760 a jack of all trades, master of none? Read the review to find out how it performs.

The Canon Pixma MP760 Photo All-in-One ($299.99 direct) is the second AIO we've seen that includes a transparency adapter in the top cover. The other is the similarly priced Epson Stylus Photo RX620. Much like the Epson AIO, the MP760 can work as a printer, scanner, standalone copier, and standalone photo lab, printing directly from memory cards, PictBridge cameras, and 35mm slides and film.
