Kodak EasyShare LS753 Review

Review Summary
Priced only $50 more than its 4-megapixel sibling, the LS743, the Kodak EasyShare LS753 is easily worth the extra cash. Your half-Benjamin buys you twice as much internal memory (32MB), a 5-megapixel sensor, and four additional scene modes. This camera is also an upgrade from the similarly spec'd but slightly lower-priced Kodak CX7530, thanks to a sleeker 4.3-by-1.2-by-1.9-inch, 6.4-ounce all-metal body that's easier to tuck in a pocket and a long-lived rechargeable battery that hung in for 872 shots--50 percent of them with flash--on a single charge. The chief downside is a 2.8X zoom lens with a 36mm-to-100mm (35mm equivalent) range that's better suited for framing adjustments than changing perspective.

The Kodak EasyShare LS753 digital camera is the latest in a long line of easy to use digital cameras from the photo giant. The Kodak LS753 and its twin the Kodak LS743 are near-identical five- and four-megapixel models that allow a little more user control than lower-end models in the EasyShare line, while still retaining the ease of use that's the hallmark of the EasyShare line as a whole.......

With the Kodak EasyShare LS753, the consumer assumes the strong shooting elements of its predecessor, the LS743 with an expanded 1/2.5-inch 5-megapixel CCD. The two cameras are physically similar, with an emphasis on its low-slung silver gray body and slim profile that allows for practical and effortless transportation. The back of the camera features an attractive and amply sized 1.8-inch LCD screen with LED lights that allow for easier navigation, a feature that will be appreciated by any user who has ever attempted to shoot in low light. The only major drawback of the Kodak LS753 is the relatively restrictive 2.8x optical zoom lens; however, the seductive aesthetics may encourage many users to overlook this.

Clearly based on the LS743, the Kodak LS753 offers the same sleek, slim and elegant body design as the LS743, but this time with a blue gun-metal tint. But, while the Kodak LS753 shares the body design of the LS743 with few modifications, it is equipped with a 5 megapixel CCD instead of 4. . . .
