The SmartDisk FlashTrax®
XT features a DVD-like clamshell design, where the 3.6" color screen
flips up for viewing and to uncover the navigation buttons that
sit on the top surface of the unit - directly below the screen. This
design not only keeps the device thin, it also helps protect the
LCD display by concealing it when closed. |

The SmartDisk
FlashTrax XT is smaller than most product shots would lead you to
believe, measuring only 3.82" deep x 6.22" wide x 1.38" thick and
weighing less than a pound (15 ounces). Even the retail package
will lead you into thinking that what's inside may not be so "portable."
But fear not, as soon as you open the box you'll be pleasantly surprised
(at least I was) to find that the portable media player only takes
up 1/2 the box, the other half being used for the power adapter,
cords, and manual.

|
While the FlashTrax XT
is light and compact enough to take with you, it's not as small
as a PDA, so it won't slide into your pocket. Nevertheless, you'll
love having it with you when you travel - whether on a day trip
or a longer vacation. For those who want to leave work behind when
they travel, the FlashTrax XT will alleviate the need to lug your
notebook computer just so that you can transfer your digital camera
media cards onto it's hard drive. Take the FlashTrax XT player instead
and transfer your photograph's to it's spacious 40GB or 80GB hard drive.
There's plenty of room to store your digital photographs and with
the extra space you will also have room for videos and music files.
