1. Product Introduction
The Canon PIXMA iP5000 is near the top of the line in the PIXMA series, yet falls just under the
$200, making it affordable for many consumers. The printer features Canon's next-generation F.I.N.E*
print head technology with advanced 5-color printing, which uses four dye-based inks plus a pigment-based
black ink to produce true-life photos, along with laser-sharp text. The print head and ink system are
the same used in Canon's PIXMA MP760 that I received in March, so I expecting the output quality
to be similar.
Imagine one device sitting on your desk that can handle all of the following tasks:
- High speed laser-quality text printing
- Full color and black & white photo printing
- Built-in 8 and 1 card reader
(CompactFlash I/II, Microdrives, MemorysStick, MemoryStick Duo, Smartmedia, Secure Digital, Multimedia Memory Cards, and even PictBridge compatible USB thumbdrives)
- Print from Memory Card or PictBridge compatible camera or USB "thumb" drive
- Full color and b/w copier
- Full color and b/w scanner
- Full color and b/w film scanner
- Full color and b/w slide scanner
Is the Canon PIXMA MP760 a jack of all trades, master of none? Read the review to find out how it performs.
