The new Canon EOS Rebel T2i may be the perfect HDSLR for filmmakers

Canon today announced a new Digital SLR, the EOS Rebel T2i, which will become their flagship model in their REBEL series when it ships in March. What makes the T2i so exciting, besides it's $799 / $899 price, is the fact that Canon has included most of the new technologies that are currently only available in their much more expensive EOS 7D. No, you won't get the weatherproofing, faster 8fps continuous shooting, 7D focus system, or larger buffer that makes the EOS 7D an ideal sports photography camera - but you will get a majority of the other enhances that have made the EOS 7D such a big success among event videographers and filmmakers.

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Review by DPReview

Preview (Summary): "In many respects the EOS 550D is a 'baby EOS 7D'. As well as getting a resolution boost to a class-leading 18 megapixels and a significantly upgraded movie mode (which now offers full HD capture at up to 30 fps, has full manual control and the option to use an external stereo microphone), the EOS 550D gets the 7D's sophisticated new metering system (bringing it a lot closer to similarly positioned Nikon SLRs). ..

Canon EOS Rebel T2i Review by Imaging-Resource

Preview (Summary): "Sporting an 18-megapixel sensor similar to the 7D, the Canon Rebel T2i doesn't shoot quite as fast as its big brother, but its frame rate is slightly increased over the T1i, from 3.4 to 3.7 frames per second despite the resolution increase. A new 3:2 ratio LCD also changes the dimensions of the new camera, which now has 1.04 million dots of resolution.

Twitter Users Take a Bite Out of Apple iPad

Attensity(TM) Group has released its analysis of public reaction in Twitter to the hotly anticipated launch of the Apple iPad(TM). Before the announcement, at least 50 percent of tweets expressed positive sentiment towards the iPad. That number jumped to 71 percent in the two hours following the announcement, and four days later positive sentiment still weighed supreme at 69 percent. For those people who disliked or even hated the iPad, the reasons most often expressed are related to its lack of support for Adobe® Flash technology; lack of a camera; inability for the user to replace the battery himself; or that the person already has an iPhone or Kindle and thus views the iPad as redundant.
