Using only stock footage from the footagehead website, contestants are invited to compose and edit an unusual and innovative short film of up to 60 seconds.

Using only stock footage from the footagehead website, contestants are invited to compose and edit an unusual and innovative short film of up to 60 seconds.

"New technology is leading to new creative styles in today's filmmakers and this contest is a fun way to introduce them to footagehead's content while allowing us to establish relationships with these innovators from the beginning of their careers," said Paula Lumbard, founder and president of footagehead. Submissions will be presented to a board of four professionals working in the film and television industry including The Hollywood Reporter and web media development at Warner Brothers Feature Films. The creator of the winning movie will receive $500, posting on the footagehead site, press release announcements and social media marketing exposure. The second and third place winners will receive $100 Apple Computer gift cards and publicity benefits as well.

Movies using the downloadable preview clips from footagehead.com must be submitted no later than October 15, 2009.

Three finalists will be selected on November 1, 2009, and will be given access to master clips for their final edit. The final placements for these three winners will be announced December 1, 2009.
