Leaked Photos of the Olympus E-P1 Micro Four Thirds Today - Announcement Coming Tomorrow

June 15, 2009 -- The new Micro Four-Thirds format so far has been dominated by Panasonic with their DMC-G1 and new DMC-GH1 interchangeable lens cameras, however Olympus has quietly been tweaking what could be the next revolution in professional photography - a true fit-in-your-pocket camera with the quality of a DSLR.

While the announcement is supposed to be made Tuesday June 16, 2009 (tomorrow) images were leaked today over at 43rumors.com along with some specifications, though we will not really know the accuracy of the specs until tomorrow. 




The Olympus E-P1 is reminiscent of rangefinders of the days gone by and will for the first time offers consumers a digital version that should yield spectacular image quality from a pocket-size camera.  Rumors show that the E-P1 will feature a 13-megapixel image sensor with both JPEG and RAW capture.  HD video recording at 720p (1280 x 720) with a maximum recording time per clip of 7 minutes, a 3.0" LCD with LiveView and embedded electronic LiveView Shake Correction, 11-area Auto Focus, an ISO range from 200 to 6400 and a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000th.
