New Nikon Digital SLR Caught in the Wild?

April 6, 2009 -- The web is buzzing this morning about a new Nikon Digital SLR that was captured by a "somethingawful" forum member while traveling in Eastern Europe.  According to the post, forum member "indyjb"writes:

"I am currently somewhere in Eastern Europe and stumbled across a commercial shoot for Nikon. What I didn't realize when I took my photos is that this is possibly a commercial for an unannounced camera.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there is not a Nikon DSLR with a flip screen."

The "spy shots " have a very soft look but they do seem to show a Nikon digital SLR with an articulating display.  Nikon does not currently offer a digital SLR with an articulating screen so if these pictures are real we are most likely looking at the next DSLR release from Nikon.

When you add this new information to a Nikon press event coming on April 14th, 2009 that Nikonrumors.com confirmed it looks like we'll soon get the official word on this new camera.
