X2 Showcases MEGA View 566 With New Photo Album and Slide Show Feature

PMA 2005

The 8-in-1 Video Player Now Provides More Photo View Options Along With Easy Viewing and Backup of Photos SD Memory Card Reader Makes Perfect Digital Camera Companion

Orlando, FL, February 17, 2005 - X2, a global manufacturer and direct marketer of digital convergence products, is showcasing the widely acclaimed, award-winning MEGA View 566 with its new Photo Album and Slide Show feature this week at PMA 2005 expanding the capabilities of the already versatile device. The MEGA View 566, which first gained popularity at CES 2005 in January, is a multi-functional digital multimedia device that serves as a video player, personal video recorder, photo viewer, MP3/media player, portable storage device, FM radio/recorder and voice recorder plus it adds an industry-first SD/MMC memory card slot with one-touch backup capability all for under $450. With the addition of the Photo Album and Slide Show features, users can bring up to 100,000 photos on the road with them to share with friends and family and display their photos either on its large 3.5 inch LCD screen or on any TV or projector using its Composite TV Out feature. Photos can be viewed as single photos or in a slide show format and since the MEGA View 566 is also a digital audio player, users can play MP3 or WMA music in the background making the MEGA View 566 a great companion for parties and family reunions.

In addition to its Photo Album and Slide Show feature, the MEGA View 566's built-in hard drive and SD slot is especially appealing to the digital camera market allowing users to easily transfer, backup and view photos from their camera's SD/MMC memory card onto the MEGA View 566, eliminating the hassle of storage limits on cameras with its photo storage capacity of up to 100,000 photos. The MEGA View 566 also supports Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 video playback allowing users to easily view their videos recorded from a wide array of digital cameras and camcorders equipped with video recording capabilities. This is an addition to its ability to play and record hours of MPEG-4, DivX and WMV video plus play MP3/WMA music all on a single device. It is the first and only DivX-certified PMC allowing users to tap into the vast array of existing DivX video content available online.

Users can also plug the MEGA View 566 directly into any composite video source including TV's, VCR's, DVRs, DVD players and camcorders to record their favorite movie, TV shows or videos for the road without the need for a PC, unlike most portable video players. It can also be plugged into a TV or projector to watch and share movies, videos and photos on a bigger screen. The unit comes with a high-resolution 3.5" TFT LCD Screen offering a clear picture and an easy-to-use, interactive video menu with convenient navigation buttons for easy access plus it includes a remote controller to manage the unit from up to 6 feet and a mini-tripod for easier viewing without the need to hold the unit. It also features an FM radio and voice/FM recording. Plus, the MEGA View 566 comes with an Equalizer to enhance the user's listening pleasure for a more realistic viewing experience.

"The MEGA View 566 is such a hit in the consumer electronics arena, however, people fail to remember its functionality in multiple areas including its versatility as a digital camera companion," says Rex Wong, President of X2. "This versatility is greatly expanded with the new photo album and slide show feature for easy sharing and viewing of photos."

The MEGA View 566 is a Winner of the Best of CES 2005 Innovations Awards and was named a Best of CES 2005 Finalist for the G4TechTV Awards. It is also winner of the prestigious Good Design Award. The MEGA View 566 is priced at $449 and will be available at leading retailers and e-tailers and directly at its website at www.x2usa.com.
