BenQ Announces Six New High-Performance, Ultra-Slim 5- and 6-Megapixel Digital Cameras

HANNOVER, GERMANY, 9 March, 2006 – BenQ today unveiled six new additions to its digital camera Classic, Elegance, Luxury and Performance lineup: the X610, E520+, E600 and P500, C530 and C630. The highlight of all six models is the X610, the world's slimmest 6-megapixel 3” LCD screen DSC camera in the market. All digital cameras offer an ultra-slim, compact design and versatile feature set, and are ideal for consumers seeking a high-quality multi-function digital camera at an affordable price delivering true-to-life, crisp photos with pristine clarity and superb contrast.

Luxury Series
Equipped with a 3X optical zoom lens with 6 Megapixels CCD, the X610 is the largest 3” LTPS LCD screen with 230k resolution including 2 levels of brightness, backlight off and wide view angel and VGA movie recording at 640 x 480 pixels (30fps) with AVI (MPEG-4) format ensures comfortable viewing and super smooth movie clips. In addition, the USB 2.0 compatible X610 offers a smart photo-editing function that includes trimming, resizing, rotation, color filter, movie editing, all which can be done via a touch of a few bottoms on the camera itself. Furthermore, the compact design and ultra-thin thickness make the X610 an ideal accessory for on-the-go consumers.

Elegance Series
The 5-Megapixel E520+ is equipped with Pentax's Super-Multi Coating (SMC) lens and a 3X optical zoom and. The advanced smc Pentax Lens (super multi-coating) enhances the sharpness and color presentation of images. The large 2.5” Large LTPS LCD screen feature user-friendly interfaces and 230k pixels enable a clearer view. Furthermore, the 6-Megapixel E600 DSC also features a versatile feature sets with 3D- Rotating Lens with Sliding Lens Design (which shortens the zoom in- and zoom out time), BenQ Easy Dial User Interface and PF Mode (Panoramic Focus) which allows users taking images without the need to focus in advance in order to get clear images.

Classic Series
Both BenQ C530 and C630 cameras feature a large 2.4” TFT LCD screen and 3X Optical Zoom. Moreover, settings are included that enhance the simplicity and functionality of making pictures, such as Scene Mode which allows the user to capture shake-free images and printer mode, an easy way for users to directly print photos out via the compatible printer (with PictBridge feature which enables you to connect directly to your printer) without connecting to the computer first.

Performance Series
The BenQ P500 DSC features a top-tier Japanese Lens (smc Pentax Lens) with powerful 5X Optical Zoom enhances sharpness and color presentation due to SMC (super multi coating) lens technology. In addition, the large 2.5” LTPS LCD with 230k high resolution enables you a sharper, clearer and more comfortable view.
