Wolverine Data Debuts World's Largest-Capacity Portable Media Player

ORLANDO - Feb. 26, 2006 - Wolverine Data Inc. unveiled the world's first 120GB portable media player (PMP)the MVP 9120 at the PMA 2006 International Convention and Trade Show here today.

In addition to its large capacity, the handheld multimedia storage and viewing device is also the only PMP with a built-in 7-in-1 memory card reader/writer that allows professional photographers, camera enthusiasts and serious amateurs to directly download photos, videos and music from any popular memory card. Users can hard disk download, store and/or listen to approximately 20,000 to 40,000 photos (depending on resolution), 120 full-length movies (1GB each) or 20,000 to 40,000 songs (3MB each).

"We designed the MVP 9120 as a digital camera companion, as an essential piece of equipment," stated Matt Mardini, president of Wolverine Data. "Because memory cards fill up quickly, photographers -- especially those in the field -- have had two expensive choices: lug their laptops around or buy lots of memory cards. With the MVP 9120's 120GB hard drive, they can store up to 40,000 photos, then view, zoom or rotate them on the razor-sharp 2.5-inch LCD screen. They can connect it to a television and share photos and videos, connect it to a projector for business purposes, and/or download images to their computer with one-button ease.

"Most PMPs are confined to one or two memory options which require users to purchase separate card adapters or units for different cameras and other multimedia devices. The MVP 9120's 7-in-one memory card reader, on the other hand, allows photographers to store and write images to a single device, making it a simpler, less expensive solution."

The 7-in-1 memory card reader allows users to directly download, store and read/write photos, video and music from all popular memory cards including Compact Flash (CF), MicroDrive (MD), Secure Digital (SD), Multimedia Card (MMC), Memory Stick (MS) and MS Pro, Smart Media (SM), and XD cards. The device supports additional memory cards using a third-party adaptor, and Wolverine offers periodic firmware upgrades on its website to ensure the MVP 9120 accepts the latest memory cards and camera-dependent RAW images. In fact, the MVP 9120 is the only device currently on the market that displays 33 different RAW-type camera files with EXIF information?an important consideration for professional photographers working with these photo files.

In addition, the MVP 9120 allows users to view JPEG, TIFF, BMP, TXT or RAW photo files, and MPEG-1, MPEG-4 and DivX-5.x video files. The built-in high-fidelity MP3 player accepts MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV audio files. The rechargeable internal battery allows up to 20GB of data transfer at speeds up to 5MB/sec. (memory card dependent), eight hours of music or 3.5 hours of video playback on a single charge. The device ships with all necessary cables (including TV out and audio out), remote control for displaying photos and videos on a TV, rapid charger, ear piece, line-in recorder and built-in recorder that allows users to write directly from cassettes and CDs, plus a unique carrying case with a built-in speaker.

MSRP for the 120GB MVP 9120 is $599 with immediate availability. There are two additional portable multimedia storage/players in the 9000 Series: 60GB (MSRP $399) and 100GB (MSRP $499). These units are available at fine photography stores and selected online retailers including B&H, J&R, Amazon, Costco, Target.com and, among others.
