Fujifilm. Expand the World of Imaging

PMA 2006

Fujifilm Showcases Multiple Imaging Solutions for Retailers, Professionals, Businesses and Consumers

VALHALLA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2006--Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc., is featuring a broad spectrum of imaging technologies and products at the PMA 2006 Annual Convention and Trade Show under the banner, "Fujifilm. Expand the World of Imaging." The tagline was created to underscore Fujifilm's role in providing a wide range of innovative solutions -- digital, analog or a fusion of technologies -- that will expand the value that imaging products and services can bring to businesses and consumers alike.

"The diversity of our offerings at PMA this year powerfully demonstrates what matters most at Fujifilm -- the constant improvement of picture quality. Whatever technology we employ is secondary to this key objective," said Atsushi Yoneda, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. "The products and services Fujifilm is featuring at the show -- from our latest digital cameras to software that helps consumers store, organize, and order prints at retail from the comfort of home -- will bring better quality, greater convenience and higher levels of service to our customers, and enable them to take greater advantage of the explosion of new opportunities being created as the imaging industry continues to evolve."

At PMA 2006, Fujifilm unveils new consumer digital and film cameras, new professional film and Crystal Archive Paper, a unique new One-Time-Use Camera, and the latest advances in printing solutions.

"Digital or analog doesn't matter to Fujifilm. We work to make sure our customers have the best tools possible to help consumers enjoy high quality images. A particular focus for us, as always, is to do everything we can to convert those images to prints," said Hank Hayashi, Senior Executive Vice President and President of Fujifilm's Imaging Group. "To that end, at PMA we are showcasing a number of exciting innovations to enhance the pleasure people derive from photography and to help our customers grow and prosper."

Expanding the World of Picture Taking

FinePix Digital Cameras
PMA 2006 showcases Fujifilm's full line of award-winning FinePix professional and consumer digital cameras. Featured will be three new consumer models, the FinePix F30, the FinePix F650, and the FinePix A600.

Thanks to Fujifilm's second era of Real Photo Technology, containing a sixth generation Super CCD sensor and the RP Processor II, the 6.3 MegaPixel FinePix F30 is the world's first point-and-shoot digital camera for consumers with full-resolution ISO equivalency speeds as high as 3200 - a setting previously reserved for higher-end professional digital camera models. Higher light sensitivities allow the FinePix F30 to shoot with faster shutter speeds, which lessen the likelihood of blurred pictures caused by ever-active children, fidgety pets, low ambient light or camera movement due to an unsteady hand. And with a battery that can deliver 500 pictures on a single charge, FinePix F30 users can take plenty of blur-less pictures.

Combining higher light sensitivities with faster shutter speeds is a technique used by seasoned photographers to stabilize pictures and reduce blur. But even a novice can succeed at this technique with the FinePix F30, thanks to its helpful "Picture Stabilization" mode dial setting. This easy-to-identify, automatic setting lets the FinePix F30 choose the correct light sensitivity and best-matching shutter speed for the highest quality digital pictures. A new flash system called i-Flash works in tandem with Real Photo Technology to intelligently read available light and adjust its power accordingly for proper contrast. This coordinated action exposes subjects more accurately, adjusting intensity by measuring a variety of environmental scene factors to ultimately capture an image as your eye sees it.

Slender digicams are all the rage, however most ultra-compact digital cameras lack a lens with anything more than 3X optical zoom. An exception is Fujifilm's FinePix F650. This new 6.3 MegaPixel CCD camera boasts a 5X optical zoom lens that brings the subject or action closer to the photographer.

Another defining feature of the FinePix F650 is its 3-inch LCD display, which features 230,000 pixels and brightens in low-light shooting environments.

With the introduction of its 6 MegaPixel FinePix A600, Fujifilm continues to introduce easy-to-use cameras that deliver superb image quality for consumers new to digital photography. This new model features a 3x Fujinon optical zoom lens, a 2.4-inch LCD display, internal memory and four scene modes: portrait, landscape, sport and night.

The big news in Fujifilm's A-Series digital cameras for 2006 is Fujifilm's decision to add the award-winning Super CCD sensor into these models. The FinePix A600 joins the FinePix A400 and FinePix A500 -- digital cameras announced last month at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show -- in Fujifilm's entry-level digicam line-up. Also introduced at CES were the 6 MegaPixel FinePix F470 and 5.1 MegaPixel FinePix V10, which features Real Photo Technology, a 3-inch LCD and four built-in arcade games.

Each of the new FinePix models features internal memory that will prove very helpful to consumers who may need to take just a few more pictures after filling their xD picture card.

One-Time-Use Cameras and 35mm Film Cameras
At PMA, Fujifilm commemorates the 20th Anniversary of its invention of the One-Time-Use Camera with the introduction of QuickSnap 1000. The new QuickSnap 1000 models are preloaded with new 1000 speed Fujicolor film with Fujifilm's patented 4th Color Layer Technology -- the highest speed film of any One-Time-Use Camera in the U.S. today. They are available in Flash, Colors (Blue, Red and Purple) and Outdoor versions and provide several important benefits for consumers including a flash range extended to 17 ft. (except for Outdoor model), better action shots and less blur than other Fujifilm models, and better pictures in low light.

QuickSnap Flash 1000(TM) is the flagship model popular for its convenience and versatility. QuickSnap Colors 1000(TM) models feature a stylish, translucent front body in vibrant colors that make them the ultimate fashion accessory for the young target audience. And QuickSnap Outdoor 1000(TM) is an economical choice for consumers who will be shooting in conditions that do not require flash.

Fujifilm introduces two new 35mm film cameras at PMA 2006 that are designed to make picture taking both easy and affordable. The Fujifilm Clear Shot V ll, with manual film advance and manual flash, and Clear Shot M ll, with Automatic Film Advance and Rewind and Automatic Flash, provide quality photographs resulting in sharp, clear and colorful pictures. Both cameras feature focus-free Fujinon lenses and Red-Eye Reduction and offer big, bright viewfinders for easy photo composition.

Professional Film
Also at PMA 2006, Fujifilm demonstrates its continuing commitment to providing professional photographers with a choice of picture-taking options across formats with the introduction of two new professional films.

Fujifilm introduces Fujichrome T64 Professional Film, a new ISO 64 tungsten-type color transparency film that delivers ultra-fine grain and optimum tonal scale and gradation under tungsten lighting. Fujichrome T64 Professional incorporates new-generation color couplers and Multi-Color Correction Layer Technology that ensure pure, accurate color reproduction. This film is ideal for a wide range of product shots, interiors, furniture, architecture, certain medical imaging needs and other professional applications requiring tungsten lighting. The new film also possesses excellent color image stability.

Also at the show Fujifilm introduces its new high speed color reversal film, Fujichrome Provia 400X Professional Film, providing new levels of color saturation in the ISO400 class. Provia 400X provides high speed sensitivity and ultra-fine granularity with an RMS of 11, thanks to Fujifilm's Epitaxial Sigma Crystal Technology. Fujifilm's PSHC (Pure, Stable and High-performance dye-forming Coupler) Technology gives it high color purity, stability and color formation efficiency, all providing excellent image stability. This technology forms the basis for the film's high color saturation performance. And the multi-color correction layers incorporated in Provia 400X help to make this a very versatile film, enabling natural skin tones suitable for fashion or portraiture while delivering highly saturated colors.

Expanding the World of Picture Printing

Frontier Digital Lab Systems
The award-winning Frontier Series has become known around the world for the high quality prints it produces from both analog and digital sources, and for its wide variety of digital services. At PMA 2006, Fujifilm introduces the newest additions to its standard-setting Frontier digital lab systems -- the Frontier 500 and the Frontier 590 digital lab systems. This new generation of Frontiers expands the processing solutions available to customers and incorporates Fujifilm's Image Intelligence(TM), which is an integration of the vast image analysis, evaluation and processing know-how Fujifilm has amassed over many years.

Conceived for today's digital imaging workflow, the Frontier 500 digital lab system is designed to be used as either a stand-alone printer processor (LP5000) or with a matched tabletop scanner (SP500). Its configuration and size make it simultaneously space-efficient and scalable and expandable. Ideal for customers requiring a lower volume of consumer film/digital media or where space is at a premium, Fujifilm's new Frontier 500 digital lab system delivers up to 800 4R prints per hour and, at a mere 9 sq. ft., comes in with the smallest footprint yet from a Frontier digital lab system.

Fujifilm's new Frontier 590 digital lab system delivers up to 2,400 4R prints per hour -- the highest-ever processing speed from a Frontier digital lab system. Its dry-to-dry processing time is surprisingly fast - as little as 1 minute and 22 seconds, which brings total processing time for a single order of 24 prints (4R) down to as little as 2 minutes and 19 seconds. This Prints in Minutes performance is made possible through the combination of the advanced processing technologies of these labs when used with Fujifilm's Crystal Archive Paper Type II and Fujifilm's CP-49E Chemical System, a chemical system that guarantees time-saving efficiency through its simple, clean and safe one-touch chemical mixing feature. Frontier Manager, Fujifilm's unique lab management system, also improves operator workflow and maximizes output capabilities, supporting Prints in Minutes service.

Fujicolor Crystal Archive Photo Paper
Fujifilm also introduces Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper Super Type P at the PMA Show. This new professional paper is the successor to Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper Type PIII and features excellent and natural skin tone, brilliant whites and highlight details. The introduction of this new Crystal Archive Photo Paper is the latest application of Fujifilm's advanced thin-layer coating manufacturing technology.

GetPix Print Solutions
Last year Fujifilm introduced its GetPix Photo Center, a line of digital photo kiosk solutions developed to bring retailers more options and flexibility to grow their photo developing businesses. At PMA 2006, Fujifilm introduces enhanced, higher speed and higher capacity dye-sublimation printers to offer consumers the ability to print their digital images from a GetPix Kiosk VP3 in as little as four seconds per 4x6" print. Fujifilm's GetPix Photo Center line boasts an intuitive, tilting touch screen terminal and a unique media drive system designed by a team of IBM and Fujifilm industrial engineers and ergonomic specialists in order to offer retailers cost-effective expandability and maintenance, particularly as new storage media formats become available.

Fujifilm also introduces several next-generation GetPix print solutions, including GetPix Software Version 4, which makes Fujifilm's kiosk the first to offer retailers the option of three levels of service to print their customers' digital images -- instantly, in an hour, or in days. With the introduction of GetPix Internet Connectivity, retailers can offer their customers online photo processing services with an in-store pick-up option via the GetPix Kiosk.

With the introduction of Fujifilm's GetPix Kiosk @ Home-Digital Album Organizer, retailers can offer their consumers a familiar way to organize and order their digital prints from the comfort of their home for pick up at the store. The GetPix Kiosk @ Home-Digital Album Organizer software has the same functionality as the GetPix self-serve kiosk in retail stores, making the online process similar to the consumer's in-store kiosk experience. The software includes an application that allows consumers to store, organize, view and edit their digital images. In addition, consumers can e-mail their digital images to friends and family from the application. This new software also includes the capability to crop/zoom, fix red-eye, correct color and choose sepia or black/white photos. Retailers will benefit from this innovative software, as it will allow their customers to order prints from their retail Web site via Fujifilm's "Get the Picture Online Service." In addition, the GetPix Kiosk @ Home-Digital Album Organizer can be customized and branded to specific retailers.

Fujifilm will be showcasing the full portfolio of imaging technologies and services in its booth at PMA (#3508). For more information, call 800-800-FUJI or go to www.fujifilm.com/pma.
