Rumor of New Canon EOS 5D Digital SLR

Rumors of a new Canon EOS-5D digital SLR are circulating around the web (See links below). The rumors are suggesting that the new digital camera from Canon would be called the Canon EOS-5D with the following features: 13-megapixel sensor, full frame image sensor, 3 fps till a maximum of 60 with JPG high quality, AF with 9 points, 2.5" Color LCD, Magnesium body, DIGIC II, USB 2.0, and other features that are rumored to be similar to the 20D. BobAtkins.com, is guessing that this camera, if it exists, might be priced as a step-up from the EOS-20D with a possible price of $3500.

It looks like a lot of this information was gathered from a Canon EOS-5D information sheet (.pdf) . Many contributors to the dpreview.com forums are debating the legitimacy of this .pdf document and/or the photo.

This information has not been confirmed by Canon and is ONLY a rumor. Details and specifications may be wrong and the camera may not even exist. Canon, however, does normally announce a new Digital SLR around this time of year. Stay tuned! If it does exist we will report on it as soon as we know more.
