Most prosumer LED panels have rather weak light output. The small on-camera LED lights are blinding to look at head on, but because these lights don't offer much 'throw' they are only effective if positioned 2-3 ft from your subject. In the past I have used the Litepanel Micro as well as a larger, brighter, color changing panel from Fotodiox (model: 312AS).
