Friday, 03/19/10 - After Canon released the long-awaited EOS 5D Mark II firmware update, version 2.0.3, on the 15th of this month some users discovered a problem where the camera didn't record any audio when shooting in either C1, C2, or C3 mode if the audio recording was set to manual and the camera either went to sleep or was turned off then on.
Canon today released another update this morning that corrects for the no audio issue in those modes. This update has been labeled firmware version 2.0.4 and does not need the 2.0.3 installed first.
