For this tutorial I have used Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, however the methods and tools that I have used are common to many other image editing programs, so you should have no problems following this tutorial in recent versions of Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Ulead PhotoImpact or earlier versions of Elements, as well as several others.

Introduction
Probably the best way to learn the many techniques that can be applied with an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop Elements is to set yourself a project. It doesn’t have to be anything major, or even particularly useful, but if it means combining several techniques to achieve the end result, and overcoming obstacles and program limitations, then you’re probably going to learn something along the way.

For today’s tutorial I’m going to show you how to turn five perfectly ordinary tourist snapshots into a beautiful attractive (no, really) postcard.
