You're standing in front of one of the most amazing spectacles of nature, wondering how you're going to photograph it. You may be asking, "will it look the same on film as it does to my eye?" This is just one of the many questions I'll answer for you, so have a seat while we discuss waterfalls and all the drama and adventure they hold.

Mastering the art of photographing waterfalls requires using the right equipment along with creative techniques. There's also some luck and timing involved. Although you may think you need to be Ansel Adams in order to get an amazing image of falling water, photographing waterfalls can actually be easy to learn. Improvement can be immediate and the results impressive. After shooting many rolls of slide film in nearly every waterfall situation, I have arrived at some no-nonsense, easy-to-follow guidelines for beginning and advanced photographers alike.
