To keep everything steady automatically, there's Canon's exclusive Image Stabilizer Technology.


30 frames-per-second VGA Video with Sound

The PowerShot S1 IS has a greatly enhanced Movie Mode that lets you shoot up to sixty minutes* of DV-Quality VGA video with superior sound quality. Plus, you can zoom in the Movie Mode — and even edit your movies — right on the camera's LCD screen.

DIGIC Imaging Processor and iSAPS Technology

Canon's exclusive DIGIC Imaging Processor revolutionizes how you shoot digital by allowing the camera to process images faster and improving the accuracy of the autofocus. DIGIC also reduces the effects on noise in your images.

iSAPS technology is an entirely new scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC Imaging Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

Picture Transfer Protocol for Win XP and Mac OS

Just connect the PowerShot S1 IS into the USB connection of your Windows XP or Macintosh OS computer. PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) allows the computer and camera to communicate instantly and to start the picture download process. There's no need to install a special driver!

Bubble Jet Direct Photo Printers

For desktop large-format printing, try one of the Bubble Jet Direct Photo Printers which allow you to print directly in one of two ways: plug the compatible PowerShot camera into the Bubble Jet Direct Photo Printer using the supplied cable, or simply insert a memory card with supplied adapter. You can also connect the printer to your computer for more options. Print high resolution borderless images in 4 x 6 or 8.5 x 11 size within minutes.
