"Somewhat to his dismay, Lester Lefkowitz hears one question repeatedly in the introductory class on digital photography that he teaches at the International Center of Photography in New York.
"Students ask: 'Which camera is better? Which lenses are sharpest?' " said Mr. Lefkowitz, a commercial photographer. "But it doesn't matter. Every camera is fine, it's how you use it."
